How to Rescue Nepali Girls from Virtual Slavery by The Nepal Youth Foundation
In Nepal, many families subsist as farm laborers. Unable to make ends meet, they have been forced into a desperate trade — selling their daughters to work far from home as bonded servants. Some of these children are as young as six
The Nepal Youth Foundation’s innovative Indentured Daughters Program rescues these girls from virtual slavery. For only $100, NYF gives each family a piglet or goat as compensation for the girl’s wages and enables her to go to school, probably for the first time in her life. The organization also provides vocational training and leadership training to build the girls‘ confidence and empower them to be self-sufficient and successful.
The Nepal Youth Foundation (NYF) is a U.S. based nonprofit that brings hope to impoverished children in the Himalayan country of Nepal by providing what should be every child’s birthright — freedom, health, shelter, and education.
Because dollars go far in Nepal, NYF literally changes lives for pennies a day. Please donate today to make it possible for NYF to continue to give unimagined opportunities to destitute children.
